These are fabulous antique boots! Pointy toes, Cuban heels, a bit of decorative perforation across the toebox. The footwear expert I consulted described these as pre-WW1 walking boots, dating to somewhere between 1905 to 1912.
SIZE: No size label - there are a series of numbers stamped on the inner fabric which are shown in a closeup - one reads 37 1/2.
Measurements | Inches | Cm |
Length, heel to toe, inside | 9.75" | 24.75 |

Heel height | 2" | 5 |
MATERIALS/COLORS: Black leather, lined in unbleached cottony fabric. The inner margins are faced in dark olive leather.Outer sole is also leather
MAKER: There are gold embossed logos along the upper inner edge of each boot - I believe the left boot has the name of the original store, as I think the bottom reads "Portland", the nearest metropolitan area to me. The right boot shows the maker, Laird Schober & Co.
CLOSURE: Eighteen pairs of small grommets with long laces
CONDITION: The boots are in remarkably good condition - the leather is soft and supple, with no cracking or other issues other than a bit of minor scuffing.
